Annotations

Overview

Annotations let you draw shapes and labels on images to mark regions of interest for analysis or documentation.

Drawing Annotations

  1. Select an Image Viewer panel containing a 2Dts or 2D signal.
  2. Click the Annotation Tools icon in the bottom-right corner of the panel.
  3. Choose a tool from the toolbar:
Tool Description
Line Straight line annotation
Circle Circular region of interest
Rectangle Rectangular region of interest
Arrow Directional arrow indicator
Text Text label (a text entry dialog appears)
  1. Click and drag on the image to draw the shape.
  2. Hold Shift while dragging to constrain to a perfect square or circle.
  3. Release to finish.

Each annotation is assigned a colour from the palette. Select an annotation to see resize handles for adjustment.

Annotations are purely visual overlays - the underlying image data is never modified.

Deleting Annotations

Select an annotation and press Delete or Backspace to remove it.

Copy and Paste

You can copy an annotation from one Image Viewer panel and paste it into another. Select the annotation, copy it, then click on the target Image Viewer panel and paste.
