Exporting Videos
Overview
Nexus can export 2Dts image series as MP4 video files with configurable resolution, quality, and overlays.
Export Video
To export a video from an image series:
- Open the nexus menu in the top-left corner.
- Select Export Video.
- Choose the image series signal to export.
- Configure the export settings (see below).
- Click Export and choose a save location.
A progress indicator appears in the bottom-right corner while the video is being rendered.
Quality Presets
| Preset | Bitrate | Use case |
|---|---|---|
| Low | 1 Mbps | Quick previews, email attachments |
| Medium | 4 Mbps | General use, presentations |
| High | 10 Mbps | High-quality output |
| Maximum | 20 Mbps | Publication-quality, archival |
Overlays
Exported videos can include overlays that match what you see in the viewer:
- Scale bar — drawn automatically when spatial axis metadata is available
- Annotations — any annotations on the signal are rendered onto each frame
- 0Dts value bubbles — live signal values overlaid on the video
- Watermark — optional branding overlay
Rendering Pipeline
The export renderer applies the same image adjustments (colormap, brightness, contrast, gamma) and crop settings as the viewer, so the exported video matches what you see on screen.
Export Video with Chart
To export a video with a synchronized chart overlay:
- Open the nexus menu.
- Select Export Video with Chart.
- Configure the image series and chart signals.
- The output is a picture-in-picture video with the chart tracking the timeline position.
This is useful for presentations where you want to show both the image evolution and the corresponding time-series data (e.g. temperature ramp) in a single video.
