Exporting Images
Overview
Nexus provides several ways to export images from your visualizations. All image export options are available from the nexus menu → Export Image submenu.
Image from 2D Viewer
Export the current view of an Image Viewer panel as a single image file.
- Open the nexus menu → Export Image → Image from 2D Viewer.
- Choose the output format: PNG, JPEG, or TIFF.
- Configure overlay options (scale bar, annotations).
- Click Save and choose a location.
The exported image includes the same adjustments (colormap, brightness, contrast, gamma, crop) that are applied in the viewer.
Image from Chart
Export a chart panel (Time Series, XY, or Spectrogram) as an image.
- Open the nexus menu → Export Image → Image from Chart.
- Select a chart panel.
- Choose between light or dark theme for the exported image.
- Click Save.
Image Series (Collage)
Create a grid layout of multiple frames from an image series in a single image.
- Open the nexus menu → Export Image → Image Series (Collage).
- Select the image series signal.
- Choose the frame selection mode:
- Equal distribution — evenly spaced frames across the time range
- Every Nth frame — select every Nth frame
- Notes-based — select frames at note timestamps
- Configure the grid layout and frame labels.
- Click Export.
The collage uses an auto-calculated grid layout that fits the selected frames.
Image Series (Individual)
Export every frame (or a selection of frames) from an image series as individual image files.
- Open the nexus menu → Export Image → Image Series (Individual).
- Select the image series and configure frame selection.
- Choose the output format and a destination folder.
- Click Export.
Each frame is saved as a separate file with a sequential filename.
