Workspace Organization
Overview
The Data tab in the left menu lets you organize imported signals into logical groups for your experiment. Signals can be grouped into folders, reordered, renamed, and color-coded.
Creating Folders
Click the folder icon at the top of the Data tab. Enter a name for the new folder and press Enter. The folder appears in the tree, ready to receive signals.
Drag and Drop Organization
Signals can be dragged from the datasets listed in the Data tab into folders. When dropped into a folder, signals are automatically sorted chronologically by their acquisition timestamps.
You can also drag signals between folders to reorganise them.
Drop zone positions
When dragging a signal over a folder, the drop target is divided into three zones:
| Zone | Position | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Top 25 % | Above | Insert before the first signal in the folder |
| Middle 50 % | Into | Insert at the chronologically correct position |
| Bottom 25 % | Below | Insert after the last signal in the folder |
The folder highlights with a green border when a valid drop is detected.
Signal Properties
You can modify signal properties by right-clicking a signal in the Data tab:
- Rename - Change the display name.
- Color - Click the colour dot to open a 24-colour palette picker. The chosen colour is used in graphs, timeline sparklines, and annotation badges.
- Units - Override the signal’s unit label.
- Show Info - View signal metadata (type, shape, source file, axes).
- Remove - Remove the signal from the Data tab (does not delete the source data).
