Save Project File

Overview

A Nexus project file (.nexus) saves your entire session state — loaded files, workspace layout, panel arrangement, timeline position, and notes — so you can pick up exactly where you left off.

Saving a Project

  1. Open the nexus menu in the top-left corner
  2. Click Save Project (or press Ctrl+S)
  3. Choose a location and filename
  4. Click Save

When a project has unsaved changes, an Unsaved changes badge appears next to the project name in the header bar.

Loading a Project

  1. Open the nexus menu
  2. Click Load Project
  3. Select a .nexus file
  4. Nexus restores the workspace, panels, and timeline state

The project file stores references to your data files, not copies of the data. Keep your data files in the same location so Nexus can find them when you reopen the project.

Starting a New Project

Click New Project in the nexus menu to clear the current workspace and start fresh. If you have unsaved changes, Nexus will prompt you to save first.
